A Summer Update on Yooreka Studio

After the successful reveal of eight games (yes, EIGHT) at E3, rising publishing company, Yooreka Studio tasked us to handle the game launches. First out of the gate were The Immortal Mayor and Reshaping Mars. However, there was a challenge. Both games – slated for PC on Steam – launched in Early Access.

You see, Early Access is great for studios and players – but provides a bit of a dilemma for PR reaching traditional media. Many videogames press do not see Early Access as a legitimate “launch,” so they don’t typically like to cover it; it’s challenging to secure coverage. So how do we get these two fantastic games publicity without media? Hard pivot to earned influencers!

We focused our outreach on YouTubers and Twitch streamers. Specifically, we looked for people that played the same genres, specifically strategy games and colony sims. We also looked at games that had similar styles. For The Immortal Mayor, that meant Civilization and Humankind, and for Reshaping Mars, that meant games like the Dyson Sphere Program and Stellaris.

It took a while to find the right targets to bring life and commentary to the games, but ultimately we had a fun list of targets that felt right for both launches. From there, we pitched and secured coverage such as from Raptor, SplatterCatGaming and The Scarlett Seeker. On top of that, we still secured some nice traditional media coverage from outlets including PCGamesN, Respawn First and Gamer Heroes.

With the two launches in the books, we look forward to Yooreka’s new games: Loopmancer and Metal Mind. We helped them show off the new game at this year’s Gamescom and secured coverage from great gaming outlets like GBATemp, Niche Gamer and more. It’s truly an exciting time at Yooreka Studio and we are happy to help!

Be on the lookout for our next adventure with Yooreka Studio.
