Balancing campaign needs with partners in multiple markets around the world isn’t always easy – but luckily the Wonacott team is no stranger to coordinated global campaigns. When we heard that Sniper Elite 4 developer Rebellion was hosting an event in the UK for European media, we jumped at the chance to emulate the session here in the US for the game’s distributor, U&I Entertainment. Fast forward to San Francisco this past weekend and we secured an awesome PR beat for Sniper Elite 4, leading into its Feb. 14 launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

With Rebellion hosting a preview event for media, we quickly coordinated the US opportunity, recommending an exclusive preview event to direct attention to the single, co-op, and multiplayer modes offered by the game and emphasize the impending release.

In just a few short weeks, the Wona-squad worked hard to recruit top gaming media to join the mission. We sent out exclusive preview invitations to local San Francisco media, inviting them to participate in multiplayer gameplay sessions. We also secured a few interviews for the Rebellion team at the event, including one over email due to a last-minute cancellation. Once everything was locked and loaded, Wonacott’s own PR Maven, Kathy Bricaud, flew out to San Francisco to staff the event. Influential gaming media joined us for nearly three hours, delving into single and multiplayer gameplay sessions, getting a look at how the single, co-op, and competitive multiplayer modes worked. While also holding down the fort, Kathy also grabbed some snaps of the event.

With some stealthy moves, we were able to infiltrate top tier headlines with sites, including IGN, GameSpot, PC World, Attack of the Fanboy, and PlayStation Lifestyle.ign logogamespot logopc world logoattackofthefanboy logopslifestyle logo

With less than a month until its deployment, journalists were impressed by the overall feel of the gunplay and the freedom offered by the mission types. It’s safe to say that we are really happy with the campaign and look forward to our next big beat: LAUNCH!
