Having a great team is important to us here at Wonacott Communications. As an employee-driven company, we enjoy our co-workers as professionals and friends, and encourage not only working hard, but also having fun and a balanced life (frankly, because happy employees are more productive employees). Our staff is comprised of a diverse blend of professional backgrounds and experiences spanning corporate, B2B, B2C and new media communications. It’s an impressive mix!
Jason Wonacott, Founder and CEO
That unique blend of experience may be most evident in Jason Wonacott - his background includes a unique breadth of PR agency and in-house experience with private and public companies, corporate and product/service communications and even television journalism.
Prior to launching Wonacott Communications in 2007, Jason was the head of corporate communications for the North American subsidiary of Korean online entertainment company WEBZEN, Inc., and Director of Corporate Communications for leading online entertainment developer and publisher Turbine, Inc. before that.
Previously, as a senior member of two leading Los Angeles-based public relations firms, he handled PR programs and initiatives for a number of clients in the consumer electronics, digital entertainment, consumer lifestyle, luxury brand, technology and clean technology industries.
Jason began his communications career as a TV reporter and anchor, working for Albuquerque, N.M.'s ABC- and CNN-affiliated KOAT-TV and NBC television network's affiliate in Medford/Klamath Falls, Ore. He also served four years in the U.S. Navy.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Communication from the University of Oregon and is member of the Public Relations Society of America.
When not working, Jason takes full advantage of life in Southern California - from surfing and hiking to wine tasting and sampling the many restaurants Los Angeles offers. He's a gamer, a music and movie junkie, and he trains in – and is an instructor of – Krav Maga, the Israeli hand-to-hand combat system, so don't mess with him.
